On 8th October 2018 on the occasion of celebration of the Day of the Armed Forces of the Slovak Republic and the 100th anniversary of the Czechoslovak Republic the Minister of defence of the Slovak Republic Peter GAJDOŠ handed over standard to General Jan BALCIAR the Director of the Military Intelligence.

For the first time in history the Director of the Military Intelligence was awarded such a tribute. The standard is one of the main symbols of the Military Intelligence. It is a symbol of moral honour and the development of Military Intelligence traditions. It is an expression of identity and a solid moral spirit. Through it, there is a sense of pride in belonging to the Military Intelligence. The Director of Military Intelligence has accepted this standard with a feeling of great pride, with deep satisfaction, as an appreciation of the common long-standing work and efforts of all members of the Military Intelligence.

The historic importance of this moment was confirmed by the Minister of Defence of the Slovak Republic, Peter GAJDOŠ, by decorating standards with a commemorative ribbon on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the Armed Forces of the Slovak Republic. A memo ribbon is not only a symbol of professional respect and appreciation of work, but it is also a strong commitment to the future and a strengthening of joint efforts.
